CURIOSIDADES: Com a crescente instabilidade comportamental de Syd, Gilmour foi chamado para somar-se a banda, inicialmente nas apresentações ao vivo e posteriormente se estendendo as gravações. Por isso este é o único álbum do Pink Floyd que conta com a presença dos cinco integrante simultaneamente. Syd tocou três faixas (Remember a Day, Set The Control For The Heart of The Sun, Jugband Blues), Gilmour tocou em cinco (Let There Be More Light, Set The Control For The Heart of The Sun, Corporal Clegg, A Saucerfum of Secrets, See Saw). De acordo com uma entrevista de Gilmour para o documentário Which One's Pink?, de 2006, Set the Controls for The Heart of the Sun contem contribuições de ambos os guitarristas, o que a torna a única música de um álbum do Pink Floyd onde todos os cinco membros participam. Como Rick canta em cinco faixas este é o único álbum da banda onde ele é o vocalista principal. Também é o único álbum da banda onde todos assumem o Lead Vocal em alguma música, e seria o único onde Nick Mason é o vocalista principal de alguma música, não fosse por sua única frase em One of These Days, I'm Going to Cut You Into Little Pieces, de Meddle.
